Roy Ernest Newman was born in Kennett (Mildenhall Q4-1920 4A:1720) the son of Herbert William and Annie NEWMAN (née TALBOT)

The family were in Kennett in 1939 - father [6-11-1881] a permanent way labourer; mother [29-1-1888]. There are 3 closed records


Consolidated Catalina Mk 1b, ser no. FP114 c/sign ?-TQ of 202 Squadron, RAF Coastal Command, left RAF Castle Archdale, Lough Erne, Northern Ireland to join the squadron in Gibraltar and was never seen again. The ten men on board are named on the RAF Memorial at Runnymede.
